You can choose to notify a recipient when you first assign a gift to them. There are 3 options: Notify of a gift, but do not disclose the gift. Notify and disclose the gift, or Do Not Notify until Life Event.
Your recipient will receive an email from you notifying them of your gift. They will also receive an invitation to download the free GiftHeir app. By having the GIftHeir app they can see the status of all of their gifts in one place. They can also use the same app to gift to others.
Yes, if you chose to reveal the gift to them. However, if you choose to reveal at a later point in time, the gift "photo" will be blurred.
Yes, you will see all of your gifts in the app under the "Inheriting" tab at the bottom of the app.
You can select up to 4 designees. A designee is someone you trust. For example, if you are choosing not to notify recipients of gifts until after a life event (like death, moving, incapacitation), they are the people who can "unlock" the gifts. This happens when 2 or more of your designees change your status in the app.
If your attorney provided this app to you as part of your estate planning, it means they will work with you on your wishes. It's a one button click to send your attorney your list of gifts and recipients. However, you will need to resend your list if you make changes. Also note that each state is different. Please consult your state laws to understand the legality. Either way, this app allows you to make your wishes known to your recipients and others you choose to bear witness.
